While metal detecting if you don't find an aluminum pop top, well hmmmm, makes you wonder. John Chirco takes the pop tops
that he finds and places them inside the aluminum cans that he returns for that 10 cent refund that Michiganders are fortunate to be subject to! While it does not increase John's refund money it is providing a service to the environment as "aluminum does not break down in the soil and stays in the ground nearly forever".
Perhaps another thought would be if someone knows of a charitable group that collects these pop tops for charity.
If anyone has any other suggestions for items that they find, please feel free to e-mail them or speak up at the next meeting!
Thanks for your suggestion, John
