June Hunt
June Hunt
Linus Palmer Park was the location for the June hunt. Located in the city of Wyoming, this park has a boardwalk that
begins at the west end of the park and follows Buck Creek . The boardwalk then extends to another Wyoming park,
Lamar Park. Of course, our hunters were not there for a stroll on this boardwalk, so let's get on to the hunt details.

June 9th found that nearly all 17 members in attendance hunted through the park, although it didn't yield much. For two
hours our dedicated members attempted to uncover that long buried coin or relic. The end result was one entry for the
Find of the Hunt.

Dick Vos turned in a Boy Scout handkerchief slide, which was deemed valid by the club members. Dick received a
Standing Liberty quarter for his efforts. Congrats to him!

During the summer meetings there is not much discussion because the main focus of the meeting is the actual hunt.
After the hunt the members have a little camaraderie to discuss the previous month's hunting experiences and finds and
anything else that is on their minds.

The topics from previous meetings will be returned when the winter meetings start or as they are discussed.

The club did discuss where to have the next hunt. Several members suggested different parks. Tom Baldwin,
President, asked (outside of the June meeting) for an article in this newsletter issue that would list hunt site choices. At
the July meeting the group will vote for their top choices and those votes will be tallied and the results will determine the
hunt sites for the summer. This will eliminate the uncertainty and confusion about where the summer hunts will be held.
